Just too many crazy things happened while trying to get the Chirstmas card photo this year to let it go by undocumented. The cards are made, stuffed in envelopes and addressed and now I am thinking the out takes would have made a better card. Oh well, maybe an idea for next year.
I am making this my December Daily page for today. Will post days 1-7 tomorrow ---- decided to ditch the digital and am going traditional -- I just cannot give up working with paper.

December Daily 2012
This year I am doing a digital version but also a traditional version. I guess I am afraid I won't keep up with the traditional one, so I am doing both. I am experimenting with the traditional album -- not doing day by day but event based. Since I am horribly behind in my PL album, thinking maybe the day by day thing will not happen -- figure I can abandon the digital one and won't be to big of a deal -- experimenting -- we will see. Used Cathy Z's November album design for the basis for my digital version -- this is awfully easy -- I may be digitally swayed!

12 onthe 12th -- April Edition
Very proud that only one photo below was not taken on the 12th -- granted we do have a few photos that are a little repetitive, but generally, yesterday, our lives revolved around the iPad (we have only had it a few days now), putting much needed new mulch around the house and playing outside (did not get photos of that because I was doing the mulch!)

12 on 12
Well --- almost made 12 photos this month -- had to take a couple from web images and from a couple other days, but this does pretty much sum up our weekend of the 12th. Like this layout better than last month -- much brighter and more cheer.

12 Moments Around the 12th
Since I only took about 6 photos on the 12th -- 12 on the 12th became 12 moments around the 12th -- close enough. Just so happened that on the 12th of January, winter finally came to us -- snow, gusty winds and very low temperatures. We had a surprise overnight guest and a cozy morning in front of the fire in the fire place. Other than that, pretty ordinary, but also pretty great.
As for the layout -- went with digital so I could document right now. Not sure how I will carry this concept through this year -- may end up just doing an digital 8x8 album --- did that a few years ago and liked it. However, am doing project life again, and don't want to duplicate -- but if I get my act together on the 12th of each month, may be interesting to have a little more in depth documentation of a day in the life of our family on that particular day. On to February -- hopefully I will remember better then!

Halloween 2011
Well, the pumpkins have been picked and carved and the costumes are complete -- all that is left is the gathering of the candy. It is going to be a cold night trick or treating -- definatly will be dressed in layers but thankful there is no snow here like in some parts of the country! Went for the handmade costumes this year --- the cowgirl was sewed and for the hippie, knitted the poncho (twice! first time I made it too big!), tie-dyed the shirt, transformed regular jeans into bell-bottoms with patches and made the scarf -- it was a fun project.

October Fun
Something about going to the farm and picking your pumpkin off the vine that just makes October great. Despite my fall allergies, autumn is my very favorite time of the year. Yesterday was a bit warm, but other than that, a picture perfect fall day -- the leaves and fields were brilliant colors of golds and reds and contrasted against the bright blue sky -- it was spectacular. We enjoyed seeing the farm animals, riding on a hay wagon, finding our way through a corn maze and choosing the perfect pumpkins from the field. I was fascinated by the corn maze -- I had never been in one before (this one was very easy to navigate -- not too many dead ends) but the size of the corn! At least 10 feet tall! I was also taken with the root structure that holds the cornstalks at the ground. Very cool.

First Day of School
I take great pride in the fact that typically I have my first day of school page digitally scrapped and sent to friends and family before 10am on the first day of school. I did the same this year, but I am taking this class Inspiration Defined at BPS (Won the class from Elizabeth Dillow -- yeah!!) and was looking at magazines today and this idea struck me as a much more interesting take on the first day of school. Kinda fun.

Summer Fun Summed Up

Today over at BPS, they are starting their Big Idea Festival. The first designer to share insight is Elizabeth Dillow. I love her work and took one of her classes last year (Red Letter Days). Anyway, her project idea is very cute, but loved the summer layout page that is on her "bonus idea" page. Had to make my own version right away -- love it! This is just a quickie digital version, but I think it does a good job of summing up our summer.

Four

My baby turns four this week. This past weekend we celebrated with family. Emily requested a Strawberry Shortcake birthday cake ---- I had made one before for Megan's 5th birthday -- I knew I could do it, but it has so many colors and details! Turned out ok -- was fun looking back to see what the '08 cake looked like. Also, for some fun decor, I decided she each needed a "Birthday Poster" to greet people as they entered our house. It was fun to made --- 35 2-inch photos from this year!

In her eyes...

So today my four year old came to me complaining that she could not take any more pictures with her camera because it was full and could I please put some of her pictures on my big computer -- so I did. What a hoot -- lots of blurry, but some pretty good ones -- funniest thing is that they are taken of things that are important to her from her perspective (and eye level). (NOTE -- I think the foot one was taken by her sister -- I think those are Emily's feet, but they could be Megan's)
Also -- started Week in the Life today. So far so good!
