52 Photos: Evening

This week's theme was "evening" and working on this homework assignment seemed to be a perfect photo. She spread out in the dining room and worked a little each night. Even though it was completed before the due date, she will have to wait to turn it in -- snow days have moved the due date to Monday.

Favorite Photo

LOVE this photo from this week. After a particular challenging day with E, was pleased that she found some quiet time -- chose to practice writing letters. Was just so cute and every once in a while I would catch her singing the alphabet song. Definitely a moment to document and treasure.

Project Life -- Week #1

Finally got this photographed -- actually did it early in the week but photos were horrible and had to redo. First week went pretty well -- found for me that it is not good to work ahead -- journaling or laying out cards -- better to keep notes (I have a notepad with my kit materials or in the memo area on my photo program) and do the page at one setting. Also, played with some different aspects of the kit -- will play some more this week and determine what I like best. What I do know I like best is enjoying my photos right away versus months from now when I have time to scrap! Still sticking to may main rule, that this is meant to make scrapbooking easier, so I am not looking to get ultra creative each week -- just use the kit. Also, I did get photos everyday this week, but week 2, nothing interesting happened yesterday and I am not going to stress about it -- that's life, and that is what the project is all about, right? Anyway, off to a good start!

52 Weeks: Independence

With kids in the house there are ample opportunities to photograph a little independence -- sometimes positive and sometimes not so much. The story here is that she was determined to figure out Jacob's Ladder by herself -- after several tries she did indeed do it.

Calendar from Scraps

Made this quick calendar from free printable here and scraps from my scrap box. Not too shabby.

Young photographer

This photo was taken by my 7 year old on her new camera she got from Santa --- liked it so much I put text on it and made it the cover of my thank you notes this year. Good job Megan -- you are a great photographer!

Project Life

I am so excited about doing this this year. I got my kit on Black Friday, so is last year's design, but since I have not completed the project before does not matter to me and I got a heck of a deal on the kit. I am going to try to do the photo-a-day, but am not going to stress if some weeks we may have several photos from one day and that is it -- life happens and I think the project will show this. Got the first page complete. Enjoying using my new camera taking lots of photos!

20:11 on 1.1.2011

Great idea from Monika Wright and Lisa Ottosson. Made a little book today to hold my photos -- based strongly on their logo, I changed a bit based on what I had digitally. Papers are DCWV and the covers of the album came from a chipboard album I got from the Michael's dollar bin. Album size is 5.5x5.5 (pages) and I will make the photos 4x4. I think photos will be on the right side and on the left a descriptor of the photo. I think this will be a fun project, especially if they have prompts all year. I am thinking of making this an entirely black and white album (photos, that is).
