Ella Sketches

So I decided to play along in the Ella Publishing Sketch of the week -- it is week 3 -- missed the first 2 somehow, but thought I would try this one. Liked it because it called for 5 photos and I am always looking for ways to get more photos on a page. My dimensions are slightly larger then the sketch, but I think it works and really could not crop photos smaller anyways. The way I understand, if you play along and post you get entered to win a Cricut Expression -- how cool would that be?? Anyway, as usual, I think page looks far better in real life. Was too impatient to wait until morning to take in better light -- so is what it is. Do like the way the title turned out and used a Yellow Bicycle journal pad (school themed) for the journal blocks.

Latest knitted creation

Made for a friend's baby shower. Bonnet turned out a little big, so I made a quick little hat to go with the sweater. Fun, easy pattern from Lion Brand (sweater) and bonnet is from Last Minute Knitted Gifts.

SNOW DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Just love snow days! Not much snow is on the ground yet, but the huge storm is heading our way and they are afraid the kids will not be able to get home from school. On the schedule for today --- a little TV, cinnamon rolls, soup for lunch, coloring and a couple crafts and of course being in our jammies all morning long -- love it!

Soup Month!

I have decided (with a little encouragement from the latest issue of Martha Stewart Living) that January is soup month! My plan is to make a different soup each week -- this week is was Minestrone with Spinach -- totally yummy. Only adjustment I made to the recipe was that I did not add the salt and pepper and used 2 cans of vegetable broth. Parm. cheese on top is yummy too. Try it! :)

Felted Bag

Picture of the felted bag I made for my Mom for Christmas. Used Paton's wool and some old mohair that my mom had and passed on to me. Turned out great. I used this pattern, but extended the handles to make it more of a shoulder bag.

Crafty Christmas

I made these cards based on a design from Wendy Smedley. Could not find the exact link, but links to her blog here.

Both made with Stretch Your Imagination by Cricut.

My new favorite book --- Last Minute Knitted Gifts.

Received some very fun crafty gifts for Christmas ---- scrapbooking supplies, knitting inspiration, a Bind-it-All by Zutter, Michael's gift cards and a couple Cricut cartridges. Received the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge --- my first shape one --- I am more of a font girl when it comes to my Cricut, but am having fun with this new cartridge. Here are some pics of me and one of my favorite gifts and some things I created today on my Cricut -- I feel like a kid with a new toy!
